For all owners of vessels over 45ft you must now comply with the Merchant Shipping Act Class XII regulations. These specify a minimum amount of safety kit must be onboard including liferafts, lifejackets, fire fighting equipment etc. Much of the gear is common sense but should you decide not to comply if an incident occurred your insurance company may refer to the Class XII act ensuring compliance. |
